Nominations Guidelines

Sports All-Star Nomination Coach Of The Year Nomination

Sports Nominations Guidelines

This service is designed specifically for respectful recognition for area sports.  Those who choose to participate (those who submit nominees) must follow these general rules and must be at least 18 years of age.

Sports Nominations - This is an automated public process that’s driven entirely by the "at large" members of the local community. Thus, the community is the governing body of this service.  Our 100% online technology utilizes a fair process of determining sports nominees. From those who submit nominations, a smaller committee (of those who wish to participate) will select the annual inductees from the top nominees. By design, this is an automated “politically free”* experience.  Where possible, the nomination/selection process will be advertised. The final inductees will be posted electronically on this site.  You may submit your online nomination at season end.

Nomination Regulations:

·Authorization – The entire local community (including alumni) are invited to participate by nomination/registration, thereby authorizing and accepting the eventual "final decision" based on actual results.

·Oversight – This service is fully automated.  However, the local community itself will be regarded as the governing body and responsible for continual development of this service (through the inclusion of online feedback).

·Local Sports History Technology - This is a local sports "Wiki".  Those who nominate will use a dedicated form on LSH (Local Sports History) to submit individual nominee selections. Upon submission, these forms are directly included in the tabulation of results for this season.  The collection of data ends at the sports season end.  The selection committee will be contacted to make individual selections after the season.  The final results (along with the names of inductees) will be posted online on this site.

·Selection Process – Online forms are submitted by the general community for all individual nominees. After the end of the season, the top results go to the "Selection Committee" for induction selection.  An individual nominee needs to accumulate at least 3 nominations during this period to qualify as a top nomination.  Those with less than 3 accumulated nominations could be discarded from this process.  Nominations may occur throughout the season.  Top selections (those with the most accumulated nominations) will be induction candidates for the selection committee to choose from.  Up to 10 candidates (i.e., the "top 10 selections") will be presented to the selection committee.

·Selection Committee – An un-numbered but “smaller” group of those submitting nominations will continue the selection process for the nominees that received the highest submissions (depending on the number of submissions, up to 10 nominees may be considered as finalists {i.e., the "top 10" are finalists}).  You may ask to be on this selection committee when you nominate someone (the selection committee is formed from this pool).  Each member of this committee will confidentially "select one" of the top finalists.  Therefore, the selection committee determines who will be inducted each season.  LSH may also submit one inductee selection.  All members of the selection committee will remain anonymous.  This process and committee will be new each season.  The entire participating community "and, not the selection committee" is regarded as the governing body of this service.

·Inductees – Nominations take place according to each season.  Those who are nominated this season may become repeat nominees the following season (where appropriate), according to their performance for the current season.  Once inducted, the inductee (and/or their nominator) may contribute more details of their successful season towards their online representation on this site.  Such information may include links to social media, videos, online articles, etc.,.

·Authenticity/Validity – This service is automated.  A reliable resource will verify the selection results.  Final results will be validated and posted on this site.

·Acceptance – Individual inductees (once inducted) may provide input for their profiles that will be posted online for public and historical reference. Otherwise, LSH will primarily use the information provided upon nomination.  There are usually no games to be played, acceptance speeches, or ceremonies scheduled.  Profiles may be individual online dedicated pages on our LSH sites, and links may be provided (upon request).

·Recourse – This is an automated online process, and the general community is invited to participate. Therefore, the community itself becomes the governing body.  Until further notice, no provision for public recourse of posted results will be provided. The final results will be posted on this site.  Those who may be disappointed or in some way dissatisfied with this seasons results are simply encouraged to participate again in next seasons selection process, if appropriate and you so desire.

·Campaigning – This is not a political process and no independent campaigning prior to selection will be authorized by LSH. Campaigning may become and individual decision for the nominators or those nominated.  We are simply interested in recognizing those who actually qualify to be included.  This is a sport "Wiki" and background information about the top 10 potential inductees may be posted as "public educational information" (by you or your school), prior to the final selection (see "Note" below).  This will also provide more details for the selection committee to make an informed decision.

·Advertising – Where possible public services and typical methods of advertising this service online process (to get the word out) may be utilized (i.e., Press Releases and PSA's).  This will inform and encourage the general local community to participate by submitting their online nomination.  This is a fully automated online process.

*Politically Free - the expression "politically free" simply means that our automated process is removing most (if not all) politically charged situations of this voluntary sports program "Wiki".  Normally, the treating and maintaining of a typical sports selection can become emotionally draining for some parties involved.  This automated annual process serves to remove potential emotional and confrontational aspects, and replaces it with intended "fairness".  Based on the facts, the local "at large" community (as a whole) is responsible for the annual results.  Thus, the collective community itself will be regarded as the governing body.  Adjustments will be made as necessary.

Note: If you represent a school, you should fully utilize your Local Sports History (LSH) membership to educate the local community about the historical nature of local sports representatives (potential nominees). This will help the community to determine who they may choose to nominate.

This initiative is a service of Local Computerized Services, LLC (LCS) through their Local Sports History (LSH) platform. This is a voluntary local area sports "Wiki".  All service aspects are generated through and housed on LCS technologies. If required, results will be posted on a school’s site. Questions about this technology service should be directed to LCS: info@localcomputerizedservices.net.  Your honest feedback helps us to improve this service.  Thank you!
